Kailey + Joe at Kent Arboretum | Rochester Fine Art Couples Photographer

I loved this couple's shoot. They have a great dynamic, and it's obvious. The weather cooperated, the lighting couldn't have been better, and we had most of what's usually a really crowded park to ourselves. The mosquitoes sucked, figuratively and literally, and I once again forgot the bug spray. But luckily it wasn't too much of a distraction.

I've known Kailey forever and Joe a while now too, so this one was of those sessions where everyone was just super relaxed and those are the best. They're so much fun. I shoot in Kent Park a lot when I work with people from my hometown. There's a lot going on there, and it's bigger than it looks from the road. Plus it seems to be a stone's throw from where everybody grew up, so it's awesomely convenient. Toward the back of the park we found a covered bridge and ended the shoot there. Just a really cool spot.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that we're into the second week of July. Summers really are a blur in this business. I'm almost done editing my first wedding of the season (which was amazing) and I'm gearing up for number two. So far I'm happy with my scheduling decision for this year of one wedding per month. Right now it's allowing me to alternate one week of photo and editing with one week of writing and research, so that's actually working out almost perfectly. This is also my first week where I have my days back! Last Thursday I finished my three-month project with About.com. I miss it, but having more time during the day means less nights spent writing/editing until 1:00 in the morning. So I'll take it.

More soon.
