Kim and Chris were the first couple I booked for 2015, almost two years ago. I clearly remember sitting in my old apartment, Skyping with them in Long Island. I can't believe how fast the day came.
This wedding was without a flaw. This pair is an 11/10 and photographing them was so easy. On top of the fact that they are just beautiful, they are also clearly best friends, and they have the sweetest chemistry imaginable. Also, can we talk about how Kim wore a traditional full-length veil and turned it into an ultra modern fashion piece? (With just a hint of pink.)
Kim and Chris did without a bridal party, which meant plenty of time to snap the most important people of the day — them. I l-o-v-e that the entire focus is on them, with their loved ones always close by.
We did their first look and some portraits in this gorgeous open loft, and I couldn't have hoped for a better space. Isn't it amazing what you can do with an empty room? Kim knows I like to play in old buildings, and she had my number down perfectly by picking out that incredible room.
And then there was the rain. It was a downpour during their ceremony (and for some of their portraits), and they carried on with their outdoor plans regardless. I used to dread weddings in the rain, but this pretty much flipped that on its head. I even went straight home and purchased water gear for my camera! Watching them exchange vows in the pouring rain was the most perfect, romantic thing I've ever seen, and the most unique ceremony I've ever had the pleasure of capturing. It ended with them flinging their umbrellas and kissing, open to the elements and obviously floating on air. The best. Ever.
